DriveWealth, a New York broker-dealer that runs US brokerage accounts for customers of investing apps such as Revolut, Stake and Hatch, said an unauthorized party got into its network on September 4 and 5, 2026, and took personal information from some of its systems. DriveWealth said the access came from a social-engineering campaign. Depending on the app, the data included contact, employment and biographical details, account numbers, tax status, portfolio values and cash balances. A report DriveWealth filed with the Texas attorney general, posted on October 2, said more than 2.5 million Texans may have been affected and listed Social Security numbers among the data.
DriveWealth said no passwords or payment card or bank account details were taken, that it found no unauthorized trading, transfers or withdrawals, and that it was not aware of any identity fraud resulting from the incident.
At least 10 proposed class actions were filed against DriveWealth in federal court in Manhattan between October 2 and 14, 2026. No class has been certified and the claims have not been proven.
