Forsage, launched in January 2020, presented itself as a decentralized investment platform run by smart contracts on the Ethereum, Tron and BNB Smart Chain blockchains. US authorities allege it was a Ponzi and pyramid scheme in which investors profited by recruiting others and new money paid earlier members, and that it took in about $340 million worldwide.
In August 2022 the SEC sued 11 people, including four founders and seven promoters. In February 2023 a federal grand jury in Oregon charged the founders, Vladimir Okhotnikov, Olena Oblamska, Mikhail Sergeev and Sergey Maslakov, with conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
Oblamska was arrested in Thailand in February 2026 and extradited to the United States in May 2026. She pleaded not guilty, and her trial was set for 10 November 2026. The other three remain at large. Okhotnikov, whom prosecutors call Forsage's operational leader, is reported to be in Dubai and denies wrongdoing. A court in Georgia sentenced him in absentia in 2024 to 10 years in prison for laundering Forsage proceeds.
